This is one of the many old fishing lures I got from my father who passed away last year. He loved to fish. I am trying to figure out what kind it is. It is a small bait and I think it is made of wood. Do not see any markings on it. I have never seen one with that little metal thing on the end next to the back treble hook. Can anyone tell me what this is for?

It's an Arbogast, Hula Dancer. The small plate on the back held a small, rubber hula skirt.
