This is a Tlingit basket, one of my favorites in my collection. It is about 5 inches high by 6 inches wide. It has designs on the outside of the basket only and they cannot be seen on the inside, and the weaving is amazing! If you look closely at it, you can see the "lighting bolt" weave at the bottom. There are no breaks in the weave, which is amazing as it does not take much to damage these fragile baskets over time as they are woven so thin. Tlingit baskets are very collectable, and can be very expensive. I got lucky with the four I have in that I got them for very good prices. Every one of my baskets in my collection is a favorite, but this kind of basket is just a little more well liked by me..lol.
