OK, this one I would like some help with. I think this is a Clam Basket, used by an Alaskan Native tribe as I got it with a Nootka globular basket, they came together and the person I bought them from said they were from the same estate sale in Alaska. I would like to get a confirmation on that, and find out which tribe made this. It is old, has some staining on the bottom. It is still pliable, no breaks in the weave. It is about 8 to 9 inches in height, and about 10 or 11 inches in length. There is a slight odor to it, not smelly but it makes me think of water.. Can someone help me with this? If more pics are needed, please let me know and I will take more, just let me know what you need to see. Thanks in advance to whoever can identify this beauty for me!
UPDATE: I have had this verified with an appraiser for Len Woods' Indian Gallery that this is in fact a Northcoastal Clam basket.
