While going through my change can to get some quarters to wash my car I came across this Standing Liberty coin. The research I did tells me it is from the early 1900's to 1930's. I know the conditioin is bad but anybody got any history on this coin or know its value?

Greetings jsmith79: your quarter was minted from 1916 to 1930,can't tell the date but from 1916 to 1924 the coins date was raised on Liberty's pedestal and was quick to wear when in circulation. As of yesterday the melt value of your coin was a little over $7.If you can see the date and mint check it out on e Bay-prices change from day to day-have fun checking out your coin.

All I can see is the M to the right and a small s to the left. From what I read the "S" means it was printed in San Fransisco. Thanks for the info

In this condition, it is worth the melt value. That is a pretty good increase on your money (28Xs), but of course you can't get anyone to pay you the melt value either. Still 14 times your money is a real good investment percentage. I take it every chance I can.
