This is a Hupa Hat Basket, about 5 inches in diameter. I love the imbrication on it but have not been able to find out what the designs mean. If someone is knowledgeable about this I would love to know what they are and what they mean. I just got this recently, I have been looking for about 2 years for one to "pop out" at me. This one did and I got it. I have a couple others and I am not sure about the designs on those either. I will put them up to see if anyone can help me with those, too. There is some damage with the imbrication designs as happens with age on baskets like this. It is still beautiful however!
