I found this tripod at a flea market. Would like any information I can get about it, such as what camera was used with it, Date and value it may have. Some of the markings are very hard to read, especially if you do not know what they mean. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Looks much like a Surveyors Tri-Pod, not one for cameras, I can tell you that this goes up double in height. I will try to get a link for you......
after looking for a while it appears that they may be used either way, I just put into google all of the info you gave us......
I agree, I think they did too. Though all I can find on Gaumont is Camera's
or Movie Camera's.........
