They sell at shows for between a dime and quarter each.
Are they worth more if they are full? Or does it matter?
Empty or full depends on the collector.
Most collectors prefer them full, but many, like me, prefer empty cans. Sometimes the contents rot the cans and they leak, especially the older cans.
I have a few, but emptied them if I found them full.
Price varies, but to get top dollar, they have to be clean, no bumps, no scratches. If emptied, they must also be odorless. Some collectors empty them by drilling a hole in the bottom of the can to keep the top intact. Personally, I don't like that. I'd rather have the open can it the way it was meant to be opened.
If the can has something special, like a special commemorative design, all the better. But keep in mind, this collection isn't likely going to make you rich. Just enjoy it. It's a cool collection, and lots of fun!
