A recent item in my collection...Piedmont Telephone & Telegraph Company...Located outside of Charlotte, North Carolina...This directory is very rare and I do not know much about the company - It is dated 1925...

I have seen old Southern Bell directories for Asheville, NC and I have several Carolina Telephone directories spanning from Wake County to up around Elizabeth City but this one is unusual...Enjoy!

Hi ttomtucker! Yes, you are correct...I did a little reading and found out the company was originally called Gastonia Telephone Company founded in 1899 - later changed to Piedmont Telephone & Telegraph in 1901...

Thank you once again for your insight!

There was also a Piedmont Telephone Company in Haymarket, Va. In the early 1970's is was acquired by the Continental System. Piedmont had only three exchanges, including one strickly for (Washington) Dulles Airport.
