I think there are good deals to be had on eBay with a lot of looking and a little luck. This nifty - but dirty! - celluloid sign from the 50's was put up for auction recently. I took a chance and snagged it for $30 total. I remembered earlycoke had previously suggested a Mernier's low abrasive auto polish to clean and remove scratches from these signs. Well, it really did the trick. This sign was covered in so much grime, which seems to have protected it. She cleaned up minty-fresh, a real beauty! Backside just as nice as frontside. The hanger string even looks to be original. I intended to try to flip this one for a few $, but - no way - it's now hanging on my wall.
Hope it's all going good folks.
Best Regards, Dave

I am glad my suggestion worked well for you. These are common but iconic items.
But, despite them being commonly found there is a tremendous demand for them. I imagine that it has a lot of "crossover" value to other collectors other than coke.
I was amazed. Thanks for the good advice.
Has anybody else noticed Ray's postings all seem to have disappeared?
Ray deleted his CW account. I'm not naming names, but alot of people have been jabbing at him for a while, probably ever since he started here. He says he is now a "viewer".
He wasn't the friendliest collector lol
I thought he was fine-- knowledgeable and a straight shooter.
I think the issue was folks who didn't want to hear the truth about their FAKE items.
I was a viewer before I started posting, I always liked his input and I learned a few things from him too. It seems to me a great resource is lost.
I enjoyed Ray's posts as well. I hope he comes back soon.
Come on back Ray, the site needs you and especially the cocacolakid needs you!!
