I found these two little bronze peacocks forgotten on a windowsill after a yearly antique market in Miami, around 1990. All that was left were empty boxes, and all around garbage.
I found out just recently that they were chopstick rests.
Other than that, I have no idea how old they are or where they come from. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
They are heavy bronze, intricately detailed, but have no markings or stamps.
They might have been part of a restaurant's equipment or a souvenir from a long ago trip...in any case, I love them, their patina is wonderful, and they live proudly displayed in a glass cabinet.
