AEROPLANE LAMP from Europe unlike any other airplane memorabilia that I have ever seen. Lucky for me, I acquired this piece. The photo is before a good cleaning. 1930's to 1940's. I found a place in Manhattan that can replace the bulb, because there is not anything I have seen around here like it. The wingspan is 22 inches so it is a bigger item. What it must have been like to see this when new...
I have just added a new photo of a lamp that someone emailed me about March in 2013, he is from England and that is where he got it. It is in his collection. It is missing the prop and has a cover instead that covers the front of the bulb. He made me an offer to buy mine, although I have not decided to sell yet.

Thanks also to David for the comment, appreciated !~
What kind of a bulb does it use?
Thanks David, it uses a bulb that is 12 inches long. I am still able to order replacements if I need them.
I figured it must have been a long bulb to light it up properly.
Yes, but I still don't understand why there is a version like the second photo, kind of strange, especially since the bulb heats it up so much !~
Yes it is kind of strange.
You wouldn't be able to touch it when the light was on!
Still it is a very nice piece.
Thank you Manikin for the love, most appreciated !~
