My parents received this rug as part of a gift package when my sister was born in 1973, because she was the area's New Year's baby. It's definitely Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but there are no other identifying marks on it, and I can't find another thing like or mention of it anywhere. I'd love to find out what it's really worth, but I'd also be interested in learning anything else about it, too. I have no idea how many were made or even still exist. And I really couldn't even guess how whomever picked out the New Year's baby gifts that year got their hands on this or why they decided to include it among the other more typical baby gifts that were in the gift package.
I should also note that it's definitely NOT something handmade. This isn't latch hook style. It's a very soft, plush faux fur type. Definitely machine made.
