This was given as a gift quite a few years ago. It has a few nicks on the wine bottle from being displayed at Christmas time, I've tried to show this in the photo, along with the stamps on the bottom, he's still in perfect condition aside from that. I'm not sure if these are made in Gemany and sold in the U.S. or if they are special ordered from Germany. Any information on it's rarity, origin or value as a collectable would be appreciated. Thank you.

These are handmade in Germany. This one might or might not be hand sign by Christian Steinbach- who passed away in 2007. His daughter now leads the company. ( Hand signed nutcrackers by Christian are a bit more desirable-to collectors and more expensive ) My mother in law collects Steinbach Nutcrackers . We give her one for Christmas every year.

      Your nutcracker measures 17.5" H

By the way.. forgot to add...

If this was hand signed by Christian Steinbach the price would be around 270 dollars... sometimes more... depending on how much the buyer is willing to pay ( say at an Ebay auction ).

Unsigned however, the price is much more modest at around 110 u.s. dollars.

Hope this help solve your mystery.
