I was never sure what to make of this painting when I was growing up! It's by Red Grooms, and it's called "Nervous City Street Scene." I used to spend hours looking at it, trying to find all the different parts and hidden details that I had missed before. But pretty much everything in this painting is wild. The sign reads, "Some leading members of the citizenry meet to discuss matters of communal health from the Nervous City Notebook."
