Hi. The firm is called "Strömbergshyttan".
Strömbergshyttan was a glass manufacturer in Sweden from the 1930s until 1979. Formerly the Lindefors glassworks (founded 1876).
Edvard/Gerda Strömberg (1933-55), H J Dunne-Cooke (1930s), Asta Strömberg (1930s-1976), Gunnar Nylund (1952-75), Rune Strand (1960s), Anders Solfors & Lars Wigell (1970s). Factory destroyed by fire in 1973, company taken over by Orrefors 1976 and closed 1979.
thankyou very much for your help
so this is "LINDEFORS GLASSWORKS"piece because its dated 1921 is that right?
I'd say that the 1921 is not a date. Strombergshyttan did not begin until 1933/4.
I think it actually reads A21. Strombergshyttan used a letter for an object: A is(for Askfat) an ashtray, B is (for Blomvase) a vase , I think. The number is the design number. The other numbers I'm not too clear about. Many people see the A and see it as an H. Problems for new collectors!
just to let you know i typed in the search bar at steuben .com i typed in steve jessey lytton and 3 items did come up on there website, because the words are sperated
Hi. the animals, the sculpture and special commissions! On all searches you get those objetcs below a result on the search.
Have you heard that Steuben is being closed down?
A great pity!
I've only owned a couple of pieces but it was high-end stuff.
The clear glass was always so brilliant!
I understand the look of the Strombergshyytan piece led you there.
By the way the second set of numbers probably reads C362. These are the engraving numbers, I have heard they refer to the engraver and engraved pattern, but I'm not sure.
Hi Sean.
"The crystal business launched by Frederick Carder in 1903 has been unprofitable for a decade, lost $30 million over the last five years and will be unloaded most likely this year — even if that means shutting it down."
That was in 2008!
"It’s the end of an era.
Steuben Glass, the luxury glass treasured worldwide for more than a century, will cease production Nov. 29, owner Schottenstein Stores Corp. announced Wednesday."

Hello, have just joined and found this item. Ashtray on the picture labeled H21 C362 is designed by Gerda Stromberg in the 1930s or possibly early 1940s. The model is shown in an old catalog that I have and only her glass are included there, neither Asta Stromberg or Gunnar Nylund worked on Strömbergshyttan at that time. The engraving labeled C362 is also probably from Gerda Strömberg. It is not included in this older catalog but in one from 1954, and among other engravings that I know is made ??by Gerda Stromberg. Gunnar Nylund's engravings have higher numbers than this.
Regards,
Nils/
Edit: This ashtray model has a timeless design and it was produced during the entire time Strömbergshyttan was in operation, from 1930's to 1970's.
