Buddy L Stables Horse Trailer Truck Photo by Samuel E. Warren. After I got my tonsils out in 1959, I would sit on the living room floor and play with this truck and these horses. Face it, when you are a boy living in Texas, you are going to be playing with toy horses and toy cattle a lot.
Plus this was always such an ingenious toy, the back door let down into a ramp. One of the side doors let down into a ramp. It was disappointing that the other side door was just painted on for show. Still it came with a center partition that you could place between the horses in the back and there is an interior back gate that lets you lower the ramp without lowering the back gate if you don't want to. The two side windows on the trailer slide back and forth.
It was just a really creative toy. If you wanted to be a stock man or a big time rancher as a boy then this was the toy to have. Photo by Samuel E. Warren Jr.

Yep, I was a boy growin up in Texas in the 60s! I played with these trucks as well as Strutcos. Very cool
Signahholic,
The nice thing is my mom made me take care of my good, i.e, toys that were expensive or bought by my close relatives. Thus, I've still got the plastic cover on the front and the windows on the side still slide, which means my truck is usually in better shape than the same truck that I have seen on ebay.
I may be too old to play with it, but since I can't part with it - guess I'll look at it. Could be I'm waiting for "My Second Childhood" to kick in.
Sam
Hey stick that truck on a shelf and you can feel like a kid every day.
My wife says I'm 12, don't know what she means by that.
Great truck! Put in on the shelf for sure.
