I am looking to see if I can get any information on this radio, as there is no model number, I did find the Battery compartment for a 9 volt it appears, and there is compartment for another battery but I am unsure on what size goes in it, a "C" size battery fits perfect but I am not sure if that is the proper batter for the unit.
If there is anyone out there that can give me some information I would greatly appreciate it.

Here's a great website for you. It'll open on a page devoted to your radio. Look around though... It's a great site: http://www.transistor.org/collection/emerson/emerson17.html
Nice radio, it is the Emerson 838 made in 1955 and was a Hybrid with 2 transistors and 3 tubes. It was the dawn of the new fandangled "Transistor era"
