1962 zenith rhapsody console model mp500 radio/phono- while doing some research ot find this radio and record player. i found the following information on it. it seems the one shown on worthpoint has a cover on the front but this one seems to be missing the flip up wood cover that would enclose the dials. the speakers are attached on hinges and can be removed to place where you would like to set them or they fold back and latch on the sides.
There is also one shown at the radio museum in chicago on their website as well!
it does light up when plugged in.
the record player does need some tlc but all the parts are there it seems. the arm is not attached. there was a record on it still that was so old the actual record black stuff was peeling off the silver record. easier to show a picture i guess but i didn't take one of that.
the cord must have a short. we plugged it in and touched the dial and received quite a shock! yes thats right it shocks when you touch the dial! we did not start the project to correct that yet. it may just have to stay just the way it is.
