Cast Metal Cars -- Not Tootsietoy -- Not marked matchbox

I have these packed away for more than 10 years. They used to inhabit a Typecase Shadowbox to add color. Most of the cars from that collection are Tootsietoy, but these are not. the Tootsietoy marked ones will be added next.

Thoughts on the makers of these?

These remind me of a box full of cast iron cars and trucks I had as a little girl. All different colors, but I have no idea where they came from, or who made them.
But I have thought of them many times over the years, remembering my tomboy years...

Just did a quick search- some are marked Midgetoy. This company was in business until the early '80s. At one time they were the #2 diecast toy car manufacturer in the US, after Tootsietoy.
I also saw the word Foro on some of the cars, but I don't know if this is a manufacturer or not.

Stef, don't they say 'ford gt', not foro? Seems to me it's the model of the car, not the maker.

    Thank you StefD
    Some are Midgetoy.
I beleive Esther is correct that the others are marked by car model (common on Tootsietoys) and are marked Ford GT. The cars are the same model but underneath are marked differently.

Thank you trgrubaugh. When I was a child, you could buy two matchbox cars or one Hot Wheels with my weekly allowance. Sometimes I would get one, and other times I would get the other.
