I purchased this 1953 Wurlitzer Juke Box in a shag club for $300 where it was displayed and had stopped working. I brought it home never even plugged it up and it sat in storage for 15+ years. When I moved in 1998 I took it along with me & displayed it in my home as you see here and plugged it in one day & all the lights came on...so i selected a record and for some unknown reason it has been playing ever since !! It is unrestored & missing 1 piece of plastic covering the light in the front.

Ok,I'm from the great white north, but what the heck is a shag club?
That is a nice piece and a great story!
Thanks pickerknows! "Shag Club".... Well down here in the south alot of people love beach music. ie: (The Embers, The Band Of Oz, General Johnson & the Chairmen of the Board) and the common dance to that style of music is the "Shag" some call different variances as the Collegiate Shag, and the Carolina Shag. There are alot of Clubs that have or gather at small members only bars say on Wens. eve to practice and teach the shag. Then on the weekends they dance the nite away !! Hope this clarifies where my Juke Box came from !
thanks Officialfuel & vanskyock24 for the loves & likes !!
