I recently posted this on eBay. I bought it in an antiques shop in Wickford, RI, in the late 80's/early 90's. Loved the color combination. I've looked everywhere online to find out the pattern; no luck, which is making me suspicious.

There is an imprint on the bottom of the cup and the saucer. Sure looks like the urn, with "Wedgwood" and underneath it "England." But now I have doubts, and certainly don't want to be selling something that isn't what I think it is.

    Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

Wedgwood made patterns in the 1ooo's so it would be impossible to identify every single piece. but as long as it is marked Wedgwood along the England, it is a Wedgwood piece. And those two words along with the Urn mark indicates that it is a piece from the late 1800's, most likely 1890's.

It may be Wedgwood Made in Indonesia - or another factory offshore. Pieces currently coming out of Indonesia, for example, are marked Wedgwood England. Only the paper sticker gives the country of manufacture and if that is gone then there is no definite way of telling.

Wedgwood was not made in Indonesia in the 1800's, and that marking indicates that it was made in England in the 1890's. Legally the item has to be marked in the country that it was manufactured in, so you will never find current pieces marked "Wedgwood England". I have been collecting and selling Wedgwood for 15 years.
