I bought this elephant at an antiques mall in St. Petersburg, FL. It measures about 3.5'' tall. It says G.O.P on the side. The paint was in surprisingly nice condition which made me think it couldve been repainted.
Any idea on how to tell if its real or repro?
Thanks

I've seen many of these. It is a repro.
You can tell by the solid paint brush layers, and I bet the bottom isn't white either (way to tell fake from orig.)
The old ones have so much detail, when the repros lack it.
I want ones of these I found one in an antique shop but didn't buy it before someone else did it was an original too! So now I am waiting to find another real one to buy but the repro ones are pretty common.
