I lost my mother Febuary 12th of this year. She was a avid bowler and I remember being drug along with my sister to Hamp Morse Bowling Lanes in Downtown Dallas when we were little, this had to be in 1953 or 1954. This bowling alley was so old it had pinboys to set up the pins between frames. She never lost her desire for bowling. She never smoked but came down with COPD from the second hand smoke in those same bowling alleys that she loved and it eventually killed her, she was 86 at the time of her death, two years earlier at 84 she was still bowling strong.
I saw this combination Clock and Lamp on Ebay and bought it because it reminded me of her and the little lady figures on her bowling trophies. The ball return is the same as the ones at the Old Hamp Morse lanes. I know it is kitschy but I saw it, and it reminded me of Mom.
The clock movement is a Lanshire T3 Self Starter, it still runs, and runs quietly, and the lamp works.
