I need some help, please.
I found this chair under my mother's house when I visited Pittsburgh, in May this year.
Even at 96 she remembers every piece of furniture and where it all came from, usually from some deceased relative, but has no idea where she got this or what it is.
I have started to clean it with methylated spirits and very fine steelwool as it has been covered with a very dark brown coating. I thought that this would have been done because the woods didn't match, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
My searches on the internet have not found anything like it.
I am assuming it is a ladies vanity seat but can't find another even close to it.
