    I got this belt from a buddy of mine and he said it was from WW2...I was just trying to find out how true that is... Any idea of value...which war its from...and what it actually was used for?

      This is a WWII era US Army Model 1923 rifle belt, such as an infantryman might wear. Each of those pockets held an 8-round M1 rifle cartridge clip.

      I love WWII military stuff, even the B17 flying fortress. I have some old stuff I will post. The snaps on this belt are definitely WWII, snaps are a dead give away for much military gear. Early stuff is stamped. Nice. ;)

      yup, WWII US infantry cartridge belt. sells for around $45.00 to $75.00 depending on condition.....the little holes at the bottom of belt were used to hang other items: canteen, bayonet, shovel, wire cutters, etc.....
