I had wanted to purchase a vintage kitty-cat pin for my sister, as she keeps "acquiring" cats and now has four, (her limit she tells me.) This pin was so cute on Ebay and I was surprised I won the auction. Once I received it at home, I fell in love with it myself and needless to say, I must now look for another one to give to my sister!
It is so well-made ~ I believe it must be brass, it is heavy. It is unmarked. It's got a very 60s feel to it. The stone in the nose must be glass, but I'll tell you, it looks like it could be an emerald chip and is set into the piece like it would be in fine jewelry ~ so lovely...!

Hi,
This cutie looks like 14K gold. I have a similar one with this gorgeous textured body, emerald eyes and a ruby nose. I like your super mod design even better though! Look closely on the back, the inside will be smooth, but the unevenness of a handmade piece will sometimes disguise the mark/stamp.
vintagelove, do you really think so? -- it is smooth on the inside, so now you have me wondering even more about it. I really should have it tested, I suppose... in any event, I think he's just wonderful :)
