Found this at a flea market. I think that it is a snuff bottle. I think it is old but not really sure. Does anyone have any idea how to date one of these bottles ? I think it is pretty cool, no matter how old it is. Thanks for looking !

Thanks Fishka for liking.
This has artistic class.
Thanks for the comment Ilikeart. From what I understand , it was painted on the inside. It was called reverse paint I think.
Thanks BELLIN68 for the "love" on my snuff bottle. I am still doing research on it, trying to find more information. Thanks , Thrifty Gypsy
Hi BELLIN68, I have searched all over the bottle with a magnifying glass and could find no signatures or marks aywhere on it. It definitely looks old, and has the reverse style painting. I have also not seen anoyher on like it. Thanks for the question, and idea ! Thrifty Gypsy
Sorry for the spelling errors, did not proof read before sending, lol.
ThanksAR8jason ! That is good information to know !
AR8jason, Have you ever seen any of these snuff bottles that you thought were old ? Was there something about it that told you it was. The guy that sold me this one swore that it was an antique. As cheap as I got it, I should have known that it was not the real deal. I appreciate your help, it seems like you have a good knowledge database on a lot of different items. I have been reading and talking to people to try and increase what I know. I usually take notes when I come across something I did'nt know. This is really a great site for people that like old things from the past, and I definitely do. Thanks for all your comments. Thrifty Gypsy
AR8Jason, That is pretty cool!! I now know where to go when everybody else is stumped. That is definitely knowledge that takes years to build up. Many thanks, and I will talk to you later for sure. Thrifty Gypsy
