I bought these baseball cards at a yard sale and have not been able to find out anything about them on the net. There are no markings of any kind to indicate a publisher or date of publication. There are 50 cards in the deck-49 cards describe a typical play in baseball either offense (red lettering) or defense (black lettering) such as -Home Run, One Base Hit, Batter Out Three Strikes, etc. The 50th card is the only one with graphics on it-the umpire card. The backs of all the cards feature a wonderful design with a baseball in the center & bright blue color.
Well that is all I know about them.
Are they part of a set?
    Who designed them?
    Who published them?
    When & where?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

I hope you find out about these. I had a set too when I was a child. Long since gone. I think they were my brothers who is 9 years older than I am, so they may have come from the late 40's even.

Thanks to the great tip from MsDowAntiques, I was able to get the cards id'd! So thank you MsDowAntiques!
The cards are from a game called "Waner's Baseball game" which first appeared in 1927 and was produced into the 1930's. The full set consisted of a game board field and metal players figures. Cards were drawn to determine the outcome of at bats presumably. I am short 2 cards unfortunately.
Thanks to the guys at the Baseball Games Yahoo group!
Here are some photos they shared with me:

Nice to know the Baseball Guys were so helpful. Hope you can find the game on ebay minus the cards, for a bargain price, and put it all together.
