Green part of the brooch looks like carved jade ... but is not of course. Have seen a couple posted online for sale which describe the green center as "Peking glass". Brooch doesn't feel heavy enough for glass so I'm thinking it is resin or plastic. But it is pretty and was a gift.

Hello DD, I recently purchased and then sold this brooch. And my center stone was glass. The thing I love about it most the back frame clearly showed the detailed pattern of the stone. My brooch was damaged. Your's is beautiful!
Hi Thymes. Glass? Guess it doesn't have to weigh much to be glass ... so is it "Peking glass" whatever that is? Or just glass ...
