This is without doubt one of my favourite piece of furniture amongst our collection of Antiques. It is French display cabinet dating from around 1860 with quarter sawn Burr Walnut veneers - the most expensive type of veneer around due to the way the wood cracks when it is processed. The piece is adorned with stunningly cast Ormolu mounts in swaggers with a Grey veined marble top. The mirrors are all bevelled on turned baluster feed with Brass sabots. We purchased it from an antiques dealer who said it was Art Deco but we knew it wasn't based on the style and overall shape. We love it and it just goes to show what you can find if you really want to hunt for the best Antique around.
