Was shocked when I returned home to find the date to be 1877. I knew this was a key date but didn't think much of it as it was pretty corroded from the sand/salt. But putting it through electrolysis for 15 or so minutes brought out more detail. I stopped the electrolysis for fear if it was worth anything I'd ruin it.
The United States of America and date are clear with one exception, the first 7 seems to be depressed more than the last 7. Anyway it's a nice key date that I'm proud to add to my collection. Thanks for looking. Jim
