WMF are really well known for their metal ware.
But they also produced glass.
I bought this vase at a fair here in Sydney six months ago.
A 1930's WMF Ikora Kristall glass vase by Karl Wiedmann of a pad-footed ovoid form rising to a flared rim case in clear crystal over a fissured orange and brown/yellow ground, height 18cm.
"Ikora glass was discovered when the factory tried to repair a damaged Myra piece by covering it in clear glass. The effect was very attractive and unexpected, and gave rise to many experiments in combining colours and surface treatments.
When an iridescent outer layer is cased in clear glass it is transformed into a layer of amber coloured bubbles and swirls. The use of silver salts can be said to be characteristic of many Ikora pieces. Combinations with ruby gold produced a rich red amber color, and when used together with Selenium, a typical yellowish brown would be the result."

Most wmf glass is unmarked. They used stickers.
The pontils can be quite distinctive. Yesterday at a fair I saw a fifties wmf vase attributed to Per Lutken at Holmegaard. There are some books now available on wmf glass: WMF IKORA AND MYRA GLASS Carlo Burschel | Heinz Scheiffele

I've seen quite a lot of WMF Ikora at glass fairs but not one in this shape. The patterning is also unusual and the glass looks thicker, heavier than normal but it's hard to tell from photos.

Hi vetrissimo and again thanks for the comment. I've seen a few of this shape on the net, sometimes with a shorter neck. There is also one similar in a jade green combination.
I am no expert in this type of glass. Just giving my reaction.
Attributions on the internet must often be treated with caution. Even bona fide Ikora has complexities and differences eg pre-war and post-war production. I seem to remember a story about a WMF blower who was captured by the French and who made some Ikora style pieces after the war in France for a few years before returning to Germany. Pete

I saw that this vase has now been dated to 1929 by the MNAD in Madrid.

V, I pick up every metal piece of WMF for Bellin I find. (found one today!) I have not yet found any glass..won't tell him and will keep it for my greedy self!
