This is a recording of when President Nixon came to our little town of North Vernon, Indiana. He came here because our Junior Historical Society (which I was a member at the time) purchased a highway plaque to place near the farm where The President's Mother was born and grew up. We wrote the White House and asked if someone from the family or staff would come to dedicate it. MUCH to our surprise, The President himself came! I sat right behind him on stage and was shown next to him on national TV! I got to shake his hand and speak to him, as a teenager, I was thrilled!
