Quite the Regal Beagle!
What we have here Steiff's largest sized and extremely hard to find Biggie Beagle. Biggie is standing, made from mohair, and is unjointed. His head, body, and tail are elaborately hand-painted with delightful shades of black, grey, and brown, giving him wonderful definition. He has remarkable three color almond shaped glass eyes in white, black and brown. His face is detailed with a black hand embroidered nose and mouth.
Standing Biggie was produced from 1968 through 1961 in 10, 17, and 25 cm. This particular example has a precious, lifelike expression.
