The sculpture is of Alexandrite glass so it changes colour according to the light. It is signed on the bottom. L Zanetti is regarded as a glass 'maestro' in Murano. He was a very old man when he eventually retired in the kid-1980s.The bowl I spotted on a USA website belonging to house clearance people. I did email them to tell them what they had and it was undervalued. They kindly replied and offered it to me at the price so I could not resist! This is also signed.

yes it looks like an onion. It is white stripes on one side of the bowl and a dark maroon colour on the other side. I'm glad you like it. It is very Scandinavian style
