typography…
(1 item)
Hi,
Picked this unit up at a Floh Markt here in Germany. I'm Scottish and have a great passion for typography but what I'd like to know is if anyone has any information on this type of unit ie what it's potentially worth, age, wood and lettering materials - I know some are wood but some others are darker colour and heavy.
It has 40 drawers all full of typesets - mainly Swiss - Helvetica, Grotesk, Fanfare and some retro looking types.
Top left marking is a stamp that says Linder.
Top center plaque has the name Hermann Osterland on it.
Look forward to any comments.

Just want to correct a detail. The name stamped on the top left is Lindner and not Linder.
very beautiful!!! love it!!!
There' s guy in Toronto named Don Black that sells font sets and drawers of wood type for hundreds of dollars each, some as much as $550/drawer.
If all those drawers are full, you're sitting on a gold mine.
