the 2 "maps "transportation and my country " are dated 1955.The lovely "flowers of the States" is older as hawai isn't on the map and is dated 1946.They were in fashion then, and seldom now
Those samplers are a part of American way of life history.In France nobody made maps.Abcdaires were patterned, with religious symbols in the "ouvrage de dames" network.In lady goddey's books it was also the same sewing thems.Then in America ,point de croix became the good way to show home ,Patriotism on the wall , for Americans and perhaps also for New Immigrants .
However,those charming naive patterns are touching hangs on my walls
