This late 1950s- early 60s cigarette case has been adorned with miniature Master Parchutist ("Master Blaster") wings.
The case is in excellent condition and shows minute scratching where the trooper polished his wings over the years.

Smoking was part of the culture of the Army through the 1980s. When I first went into the Army in the early 80s, I can remember the regular "smoke breaks" even during basic training. When I asked a Drill SGT what the non smokers (only 2-3 of us in a platoon of 45) were supposed to do-- he yelled at me and said "start smoking".
