Manikin
(183 items)
manikin doll from 1940's . Manikins were used during WWII to teach young girls to sew as part of war effort . Since material was in short supply during war stores would also use these litle mannequins on counter to display their garments in minature size to save money on lots of material . They have a great place in history and come in sewing sets with patterns usually and range in size from 12 1/2 " to 30" Patterns were available . Some were crudely made others stunning with excellent craftmanship . This is a common set to find called Peggy MCcall set she is almost 13" tall and complete in box .
