Having been a squirrel all my life I have lots of stuff which I collected and having moved house I am now trying to sort and identify all the bits and pieces. This spoon has been in a box of bits for many years and I am sorry to say I can't remember where it came from. I don't collect spoons but found it interesting enough to keep. I have looked at hundreds on line and found one with the banding and diamond shapes that are on the handle, also with the rounded end and the same sort of bowl. That one was listed as Norwegian dating from 1698. My spoon has a mark to the back top of handle which looks like BR and a small D. This looks like it could be a makers mark whereas the initials below it look like an owners monogram. There is a 5mm crack to the bowl.
If anyone can tell me any more about it, confirm the age or the maker I would be so pleased, I have found the researching great fun!
