    Another advertisement find. This one is for "Queen Shears" Sold by the H.Collett & Sons Dry Goods and Groceries. They also sold hardware and implements. The front says Henry Sears & Son 1865. I am thinking they are the makers of the shears. Card is in good shape except for one corner. Not sure of the age, but definitely old and fragile. I thought it had some pretty neat graphics to be so old. Thanks for looking.

      So that's what happens when the monkey gets the scissors!

      I wish I had that as a huge framed print. I love it ;)

      Thanks hotkitties ! That is quite a scene going on in that house ! It looks like the dog wants no part of what is going on, and is running for his life ! I thought that was an unusual way to advertise scissors. Thanks for looking !

      I think you are right hotkitties ! That monkey was terrorizing everything in the house. Bird looks kind of calm, but has one leg up ready to take off !! Wait a minute.... are those feathers on the floor ???

      monkey will be the only one left with a tail!

      Thanks AR8Jason for the information. I will jot this information in my notebook for future reference. Am I to assume that Henry Sears & Co. became Sears and Roebuck ? That is a cool time line for how the company changed over time.

      @ThriftyGypsy I would love to know where you found this! My Great Great Great Grandfather was Henry Collett. He founded the town of Elk, KS, where he owned a general store and a blacksmith shop.

      Hi zcollet,
      I haven't been on this site in quite awhile, and I was surprised when I was notified I had a comment on this item. I had to search thru a box of vintage post cards and was able to find this. I see where I posted this about nine years ago and it is amazing that you ran across it. I believe that I purchased it with a collection of postcards in an antique store here in North Carolina. Since this is something I would have to say is a family item, I would like to send it to you if you would like to have it. I am getting older and have no problem passing on things ! My e-mail is chester.carroll1959@yahoo.com. I can mail it to an address of your choosing. Thrifty Gypsy

      @ThriftyGypsy
      I shot you another email earlier this week and haven't seen a response, just wanted to confirm you've seen it on your end? Thanks!
