I purchase this girl recently at a shop who couldn't give me any history about her at all as she'd been gifted to them. I've never seen anything like her before in my life & would love to hear from anyone who can give me any information about her at all.
She is vibrantly coloured in what I think is velvet and I think she is stuffed with sawdust. Her legs move and I have taken a picture of the stud which is attaches them to her. She has a wooden? mask which hangs around her neck & fits her face perfectly & is lined with green velvet and she has protruding body parts to say the least! The only dis-coloured parts are the lace cuffs around her arms which have obviously dulled with time. Her finger nails & toe nails are painted and she has several items of jewellery on one of which is a charm bracelet which holds a 5 cent piece 1938, a quarter 1924 and one cent 1903 all in miniature. Her hair seems to be made of some type of animal fur (just a guess but it dosen't feel manufactured) and she sits about 19 inches high. I would be very grateful for any information. Many thanks.

Oh how fun she is :-) She is decorated with items from USA but looks tribal . She even has old 50's pop beads for bracelets . No way to know if USA jewerly was original but seems so which makes her pretty special . Maybe an artist did her as her body suit is so 70's and retro . Could she have been used as a prop in a theatre play ? I have no idea but she is unique and wonderful .
    Thanks for sharing her

The more I look at your doll she looks like a Artist's work and maybe a Creative Art display . Fascinating . If only they could talk . I could see her at an Art exhibit for creating a peice of art rather than just a doll or a novelty . To bad she is not signed . Did you look inside mask for any signature or on rim of any hard surface or handwritten on body maybe where she sits ?

Perhaps she was a prop for Mardi Gras in New Orleans... the mask & beads might be a clue. She's exquisite!
