I got this a couple of weeks ago. I has a very interesting pattern, and the pierced corners add a kind of lightness to it. Of course, the best part (for me anyway) is the glow! If anyone has any info about the age, or who made it, I'd love to know.

I don't know anything about it but it is a true beauty !!! I collect uranium glass and have never seen this piece !

Thanks, Hedgewalker. I really like it, and had a nice long talk with the dealer I got it from, which is as much fun as collecting!

This bowl dates to the 1880s, and is by Bryce Brothers. It is shown (in clear) in Butler Brothers assortments from the late 1880s- early 1890s. It also comes in other Bryce colors (amethyst, blue, and probably amber, though I have never seen the latter).

Thanks, Paul! Any idea what it's worth?

I hesitate to give any sort of values for items. Prices vary according to: market conditions, marketplace the piece is being offered, location, immediate demand, etc. I can tell you that your bowl has appeal not only to collectors of EAPG, but also to collectors of vaseline glass, so because of that it has a wider audience.

Thanks Paul. I just wanted a general idea. I collect items because I like them. I paid $30 for it, and it's just for my collection. I just wondered if that's reasonable. I'd never bought a piece of vaseline that big (or expensive) before, but it looked like it was worth that much. Thanks for all your info!

    I'd say you did well!
