Good morning everybody, Happy Veterans Day to all who served !
I have had this compass for 15-20 years and it was purchased at a yard sale. I have just recently tried finding some kind of information on it. I do know it was military issue, and that's about all I know. There is information on the bottom of the compass, and it has 2 clips that fold out like some type of attachments, to what I don't know. The information is:
Weight is 0.8 lbs. US, NO.NC-1 Marine Compass Company, Contract Number H383-69066A, and Compass Magnetic, Card, Pocket, Type MC1.
I think I was looking in the wrong areas, so I knew that someone on our site would probably have the full history on it ! Thanks for looking,T.G.
I forgot to mention the size of the compass:
1 3/4 inches wide, 1 inch in height.
