Shown is the Fighting Knights playset, made by the Marx toy company in 1967. Around this time Marx started to make their playsets more travel friendly, so rather than put them in a cardboard box that would fall apart quickly, they put them in a metal carry all case with a handle. The case itself was an integral part of the playset. In this case, the case served as the castle walls when opened up.
The playset came with knights, vikings, horses, and various accessories. This set is nearly complete, considering it is 44 years old. Just about every guy growing up in the sixties had at least one type of Marx playset.
