It's spectacular Oz! Never heard of Welz but I have no books. I'll have to check them out. The indentations remind me of Loetz pieces I've seen.
Hi Deb, most people out ther probably have not heard of Welz. I'd expain them to you but there is a better expalnation on this site :-
http://kralik-glass.com
just enter it and go to the Why Welz? a preface on the side menu.
Quite a few of the people on Collectors Weekly are contributors to it.
Many of the Bohemian makers did similar wares to each other , many of the workers moved between factories and where interrelated.
Say Oz! That's a neat site. I've saved Loetz.com, Scheeper's, Villanueva's and others to my favorites so I can feast my eyes and use as references. Now I'll save this site, which somehow I managed to miss. Thanks bunches. So yours is the iridescent swirl decor. So many shapes and decors! My favorites, like so many collectors, are the iridescents. Thanks again for the education!
Hi Deb , the site is still under construction ,Craig has done a wonderful job of putting it all together. By the way my name is Marty and I'm from OZ (Australia) . I love all the varieties
Hi Marty! I got one today myself!
