I found this series of 24 photos in envelope. Also included was the newspaper clipping. The couple in photo is my great great grandparents, this is the closest to a smile that I have ever seen of her in a photograph. After that voyage I'd be grinning ear to ear... And we complain about air travel...

Oh my after that ride I might not be smiling either lol so much water ! That had to be an amazing trip . Love the photo's !!!!!! Thank goodness your Grandparents survived it .
You know in older photo's no one ever seemed to smile have you noticed that ? Maybe they thought you should not smile ?
Yes, even in times of joy they didn't smile...Very serious and stern, even at weddings and on vacation. And the children too. It does make one wonder. I have photos of them all over the world on great trips and they never had even a hint of a grin. If I was sitting on a camel in front of a pyramid I would certainly show some glee!
all I can say is wow! to those pictures and the story it tells!
Thank-you EJW-54, Everyone else has posted such intriguing/ thought provoking family photos. All I ever seem to find of my family has been of stuffy old people just standing in front of their fancy houses looking bored. But these finally had some action!
