Here is my Grandfather after a long day of Milking and working fields . I wish everyone could experience life on farm and yes it is a24/7 job . This was a hard working class of people are that are disappearing as the farms get gobbled up by subdivisions and corporations that mass farm today .

I was raised on one of those farms. I remember my dad coming in from all day in the field every night covered in dust, looking just like your grandfather. Then eating and doing the chores for another few hours. I remember well.
Yes is was exhausting work but at end of day you really felt like you did a days work . Very little pay but food was always on table
Thank you Hotkit,Beaux and Hedge for love!
Thats what I used to look like! (when I had a job). ;~/ my desk would look like that too if my wife didnt pick-up behind me! well.. not really. are those 7UP bottles?
Not sure what the bottles are my guess maybe beer ? Grandpa liked a few of them. I never remember having soda at farm . Unless my grandma found them to use as sprinkling bottles to iron clothes with , Remember those ? Used a bottle with a top that sprinkled dry clothes with to iron them :-) I think I am standing next to him in this picture as a little girl .
It looks like you are holding a tin with treasures in it, & those do look like 7 UP bottles. My dad had a nice heavy Oak desk just like that, my nephew is now the proud owner of it.
