This is a custom beadwork statement necklace I commissioned from Cindy Caraway. We worked together to develop the concept and I provided her some of the mixed media materials. The piece is titled "Night Out On The Range" It features a campfire out under the moon and stars and includes black hair from my horse, silk scraps from several of my "wild rag" silk neck scarves, black and teal wool snips from my saddle blanket, a corner cut from a deep ruby wool sleeping blanket, a silver button that represents the engraved conchos on my gear, and a druzy stone that sparkles like the stars. It was a very interesting experience and I have never met or spoken to Cindy in person. We worked together totally over the internet. Amazing.
