This house was built in 1836. My Great Grandfather bought it in 1936 and took the first picture and sent it too his family to show them what he bought,my whole family has lived there at one time or another[except me and my sister],but it was last lived in ,in the late '60s by some hippies who painted all of the woodwork black! The 2nd pic was done in black and white and was taken in 2004 we still use it for storage and is pretty solid for it's age. Also was a midwifes house before my family bought it.

Built in 1836 and still standing!!!! They sure don't make em like that anymore!! I bet all that black woodwork is hardwood too, darn hippies and their paint, lol.
Thanks olegaclockman47 and manikin! and it has Poplar woodwork
wow. I would LOVE to have an old house like that. Especially one that has been in the family for so long. I am no way a "handy man" but I would spend some of my down time doing my best to fix up what I can. Starting with removing all that old black paint! Send more pics if you can!
Would love to see it restored to it's former glory before it's to late, love these early homes. We are restoring one from 1907 which is state hood here in Oklahoma, to only have a home from the 17 or 18 hundreds.
Thanks tlmbaran and stonie ,BTW my great grandfather moved from Oilton OK. when he bought this farm,he worked in the oil fields
Most of the damage to the upper/front area and some windows has been fixed ,it was from a wind storm [70 mph] that also took the roof off of our barn and blew it 300 yards into our field[ALSO FIXED BY ME! not sure I'd do that again].I also have my woodshop in the kitchen of this house ,and a project cushman scooter on the kitchen table!
Thanks S_P and vansky!
Thanks walksoftly!
